As per the Medical Council of India, an Indian student is only eligible to take medical education in approved schools/universities. If you take admission in a university which is not recognized by the MCI, then your education can be void. That means, you will not be allowed to practice as a doctor in India.
How MCI Approves the Universities?
MCI approves all the medical schools which are verified by the Indian Embassy (in the said country) to be providing a qualification which is a recognized qualification for enrollment as a medical practitioner in that country. Besides that, a list of universities is published by the Medical Council to guide the students.
MCI Approved Medical Universities in Georgia for Studying MBBS
Medical education (MBBS/BdS) in Georgia is high in demand because of the good climate, quality of education, and future scope. Hence, the MCI has published a list of approved universities in Georgia. Students can apply for and study MBBS in these universities without worrying about eligibility certificates or any other documentation. All students who have cleared the NEET exam can study in the approved universities.
MCI has approved 22 universities in Georgia. Do note that not all universities featured in the MCI’s list are good at teaching. So, do your research and choose your institution wisely.

like more details
my daughter is studying in tiblisi medical university, she is compaining about the oral tests there .can she to move any other college with written tests
Hi Mr. Ajith, MCI does not allow you to do that. As per MCI, your entire degree should be completed from the same university for it to be recognized in India. So, we advise on not doing that if your daughter intends to practice in India.
Is that the only problem?? What about the studies there?
Studies are good when the faculty is good 🙂
I want to study in goergia. But Indian high commission in goergia said that if the eger to study mbbs they should study in government medical college because the private colleges have less infrastructure to gather more patient.what should I do…plse help me
Hi Rupak, while this is true for some universities, it is not true for all of them. For example, at European University. you do get good infrastructure and support. They also have collaboration with the same hospitals as do the government medical colleges. So, the level is at-par 🙂
Government college or private colleges…which best?
Better is to go with private universities. You get better facilities at a private medical university. But, the decision is yours.
What about Geomedi university ?
it is approved by MCI, but I hear that the university itself is having problems with Georgian administration. The last I heard was that some students were denied a TRC and were sent back to India.
Hai, how much % is required for admission in new vision university georgia
The university accepts all students. However, you need to meet the MCI’s minimum criteria i.e. 50% in PCB and passing marks in English.
East European University is recognized by mci?
Hi, it is recognized by the MCI. Please contact us if you’re willing to take admission in East European University.

Hello Mr. Sunil,
Sorry for the delay in response.
1. The university is a government university and one of the oldest in Georgia. So, you can expect good quality education for sure.
2. NEET is mandatory as an eligibility for NEXT, without which he may not be able to practice in India.
Good Afternoon
I am seeking an admission for my daughter in Ivane Javakhashvili Tbilisi State University ,through a consultant.I would like to know about this college.
1 How good is this college for medical education.
2 Is it government college, please guide me in this regard.
Thanks®ards
Shahitha
Hello Shahitha,
Tbilisi State University is a great university to study in. It was established in the year 1918 and just completed its 100 years. The government of Georgia even issued a limited edition 5 GEL currency coin to celebrate the 100th anniversary. So, yes it is a government owned university. The tuition fees is USD 5,000 per year.
One thing which is different in TSU is that they stress on completing subjects one by one. So, the focus will be on individual subjects at a time, instead of running lectures for all the subjects simultaneously.
I wish your daughter all the best for her career.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR VALUABLE REPLY.
hai,
my son qualified NEET and he seeking admission TSU.He finished 10 th in UAE and 12 from India. If he is going from UAE does he need any document from India? He wish to practice in India.
Hello Madam,
If your son has cleared NEET, then he does not need any additional documents. He will need to take the National Exit Test (NEXT) exam after the completion of studies to start practicing in India.
Georgian American University is better or European University Georgia
Georgian American University is recently founded. So, European University is better in all aspects.
